Innovative and bespoke products, and off-the-shelf solutions:
a comprehensive offering born from a wealth of technical know-how

Convert is a UK leader in the manufacture and supply of Cable Assemblies, Looms and Harnesses.

We supply products across sectors including automotive, medical and scientific equipment, and industrial manufacturing.

Our procedures, processes, and products are all designed with quality at their core:  dedicated Quality Control staff perform in-process inspection during every critical stage of manufacture.  We regularly review our training and skills matrix, working for continuous process improvement.

Continual investment in state-of-the-art equipment and facilities has helped us support customers for nearly 20 years.

Multi Branch Complex Looms and Harnesses

Highly complex looms and cable harnesses with multiple branches – all manufactured to the highest quality standards by our dedicated production team.

We manufacture complex looms and harnesses for a range of different sector requirements, including: automotive engine management; control looms for medical and scientific equipment; power and control harnesses for equipment manufacturers, with all production processes managed by our experienced staff.

Our engineers produced comprehensive works instructions and operating procedures, providing our highly-skilled assembly staff with all the technical information necessary to ensure that every part of these complex cable assemblies are produced and manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Our experienced Quality Control staff perform in-process inspection and verification during manufacture of each cable loom or cable harness.

Final inspection includes electrical testing using Cirrus harness testing equipment.

And visual inspection is performed to ensure that each completed cable assembly meets agreed final build standards – providing you with a reliable and robust product.

Cable Assemblies, Looms and Harnesses

We apply the high quality standards you expect to all connections made – whether you require soldered connectors or a crimp and poke solution.

For assemblies with discreet cables, Convert can mark each individual cable using our Hot Stamp Cable Printer during the cutting process.

All cable assemblies, looms and harnesses are manufactured to your design specification, with multi-core cables or individual single core cables.

Each critical stage of the cable harness manufacturing process, e.g. soldering or wire crimping, is subject to in-process inspection by our experienced Quality Control staff prior to final product assembly.  All assembly work is carried out by our team of highly-skilled, highly-trained Convert staff.

Cable assemblies and looms can be finished with braid, cable ties, spiral wrap, or laced – providing you with the cable form you require, ready for integration into your products, whatever the specification or sector.

Our dedicated Quality Control staff perform final visual Inspection of completed assemblies and, where appropriate, products are electrically-tested using our cable harness test equipment prior to delivery.

Interconnect Harnesses

Convert manufacture and assemble interconnect cable harnesses for both board-to-board and board-to-panel applications.

Individual wires are cut and crimped using our Artos MTX-5 cable preparation equipment, while multi-core cables are processed using our crimp bench presses.

We use integrated crimp force analysers to monitor each terminal applied, ensuring your products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.  Once inserted into housings, these assemblies are then ready for easy connection onto your PCB connectors.

Where applications require direct soldering onto your PCB, Convert offer a range of single circuit or multiple connector board-in crimp style solutions.  Multiple connector style solutions can be accommodated in both vertical and right-angled / side-in variations.

Cable harnesses can be finished with sleeving, braid, or harness tape to provide a robust and complete solution, with all assembly work performed by Convert’s highly-skilled and trained staff.

Our dedicated Quality Control team will perform a final visual inspection of completed cable assemblies.  Where appropriate, products are electrically-tested using our cable harness test equipment prior to delivery.

Wire and Cable Sets

We have the capability to process large volumes of individual wires using our Artos MTX-5 cable preparation equipment.  Whether solder tinning or crimping is required, Convert provide a consistent, high quality product.

Integrating crimp force analysers ensures that every crimp terminal applied is automatically monitored for a high quality of termination.  Active machine-based sorting removes any defective terminals to prevent these from progressing through the manufacturing processes.

Where pre-insulated type crimps cannot be fitted automatically, these are processed using our semi-automatic bench presses.

Individual wires can be grouped and packed as wire-sets, ready for easy installation into your products by your own site engineers or production operators.

Convert’s dedicated Quality Control team inspect all processed cable and wire sets prior to dispatch, giving you peace of mind and ensuring our products meet the highest quality our customers demand.
